Meet the owner

Elaine, founder of The Bare Essentials, grew up in the South Bay and graduated from California State University Long Beach with a degree in Economics and Finance in 2011.

After working in banking and investments, she began developing adult acne and sought help from dermatologists and estheticians without any success. Frustrated, she decided to enroll in esthetician school to learn how to heal her own skin. This sparked her passion for helping other women enhance their beauty and increase their confidence.

In 2019, Elaine opened Lashed Laine, which survived several pandemic-related shutdowns and was eventually rebranded to The Bare Essentials in 2022 to encompass all of Elaine's passions.

Sugaring

Sugaring is a hair removal technique that uses a natural paste made from sugar, lemon juice, and water to remove hair from the root. The paste is applied to the skin and then removed quickly, taking the hair with it. It is a gentler alternative to waxing and can be less painful. Sugaring is also known to cause less irritation and is suitable for sensitive skin. The results can last up to six weeks, and over time, hair growth can become finer and sparser.

Lash Extensions

Lash extensions are a popular cosmetic treatment that involves attaching individual synthetic or natural hairs to a person's natural eyelashes. These extensions are applied using a special adhesive that ensures they stay in place for several weeks. They come in different lengths, thicknesses, and curls to create a customized look for each individual giving a fuller and more prominent look. They are a great option for people who want to enhance their natural beauty without using makeup or false lashes. With proper care and maintenance, lash extensions can last 2-3 weeks before needing a touch-up.
